Need Something Lighter, But Still Secure?

This mailbox has AMAZING security features, without the extreme weight of our other mailboxes. Made of 1/8” thick steel (11 gauge), it’s got all the same security features as our heavier mailboxes, but only weighs 38 pounds. It’s still thicker than other locking mailboxes on the market, with the Fort Knox recessed doors to prevent prying! It has a 1” continuous welded steel hinge. The M1-LT holds approximately 1-1.5 weeks of mail.

If you are tired of replacing standard hardware store locking mailboxes, and are ready for Ft Knox security, then the M1-LT can be a great fit! It’s our “entry-level” mailbox, but there’s nothing “average” or “basic” about the M1-LT! We’ve been selling this mailbox for approximately 9 years now, with FANTASTIC results.

This is How It Works!

The mail carrier inserts your incoming mail into the open slot at the top (10” W x 1.75”H). It drops down into the locked compartment. This compartment is always locked, and you’ll be the only one with a key! Your mail will be waiting inside until you’re ready to get it out. No stressing or worrying about getting there quickly!

The M1-LT is pre-drilled on the bottom. 4 holes, 4 5/8” apart, and designed to fit our LT Posts. However, it can also easily be installed on many surfaces: wood, metal, masonry, etc.

The M1-LT has our amazing, thick powder-coating finish to combat all the elements.

The M1-LT will come with our 7-pin tubular lock, but you can also upgrade to any of the following:
- Slam-Lock (for locked up packages)
- High Security Medeco
- The Vault Lock EXTREME!
- Setup for the “Arrow Lock” (post office approval needed)
Flag. When you add the flag, you’ll receive an extra welded shelf to the top of the door. Outgoing mail is placed on that shelf, and needs to stick out an inch, for the mail carrier to grab. Remember, outgoing mail cannot be locked by postal standards.

More Information On M1-LT Mailbox And How It Works

This is a “Limited Service” Mailbox and set up for incoming mail only. If you need outgoing mail, it is an addable option, but outgoing mail cannot be locked. When added, the outgoing mail option exposes the mail for the postal carrier to take. It allows for about 1-4 envelopes at a time. Contact us with questions or view our FAQ page.

The mail carrier inserts the incoming mail into the slot (11.5″W x 1.75″H). Outgoing mail rests below the incoming slot (with an optional outgoing mail capability). Although there is no door concealing the outgoing mail like some of our other models, outgoing mail is still available. You will need to leave your outgoing mail sticking out about an inch for the mail carrier to grab (see our cutaway view for an explanation of how this works).

The body of the mailbox has an overhang that protects it from vandalism and rain. The door is held closed with an included 7 pin tubular pick-proof lock (upgradable) and incoming mail will rest behind this locked door after the mail carrier drops it in the slot.

Shipping Options

When Will Your Mailbox Ship?

Because of custom options, we don't keep a huge inventory of mailboxes. If your mailbox is in stock, it will ship within a few days. Otherwise, here are our average shipping times*:

Smaller Mailboxes (M1-LT, Small & Large): 1-2 weeks
Larger Mailboxes (Fortress, Vacationer, Senator & Package box): 2-3 weeks
The Vaults & CBUs: 4-6 weeks
Smaller accessories ship within 2-3 days
Custom Colors will add 1 week to the above time frames
Extra keys can take 7-10 days for delivery

*Larger quantities or custom orders will take longer.

Most Products Ship FedEx

Our mailboxes except for the Package Box & Vaults, and accessories ship FedEx.

If you order a quantity of 4 or more larger items (Mailboxes and Posts), your order will ship FedEx.

Shipping for FedEx can be calculated at checkout. If the total weight of your order is higher than what FedEx allows, the freight option will appear. If that happens, we will call and finalize the cost for freight shipping once your order has been placed.

Large Items & Larger Quantities Ship Freight

Our Package Box, All Vaults, and Racks must ship freight.

Order quantities of 4 or more mailboxes will ship freight. One exception is the M1-LT -- we've shipped 10 FedEx ground and it's cheaper than freight.

The T-Post for 3 generally ships freight. We can make the T-Post for 3 in two pieces (Not all welded together) and ship it FedEx ground if you want. We do this often, but it's after asking your opinion.

We will call and finalize the cost for freight shipping once your order has been placed.
