The Senator is a BEAST of a mailbox, and it really does have it all. The 148 pounds of ¼” steel and all recessed doors will safeguard all your important stuff. And it’s all important: letters, bills, checks, statements, your prescriptions, and online shopping. The Senator is a Fortress Mailbox, with an added package compartment below it. Yes, it’s beefy!!! But still able to ship via Ground and not freight.

The problems of mail theft and vandalism are similar, and the stories are interesting, and we truly appreciate getting to talk with you. The idea for the Senator Mailbox came from a former Senator, who asked if we could modify a mailbox for him. He liked the Fortress Mailbox but wanted a separate compartment for his packages. We took his idea and came up with a stronghold, and called it, of course: The Senator!

This is How It Works!

The Senator has three sections.

The upper section has an unlocked door, for the mail carrier to pull down on the handle and insert your mail into the mail slot. Right below the incoming mail slot is an outgoing mail shelf, (completely enclosed and separate from the incoming area). Your outgoing mail cannot be locked by postal standards, but it’s out of sight, behind a door. Please see the cutaway diagram below. The Senator comes with a Flag.
The middle section has a locked door. It’s where you’ll retrieve your incoming mail. It will always be safe, protected, and waiting for you. You are the only one with a key!
The lower section comes with a Slam Lock to accommodate bigger packages. Just leave the lower door slightly ajar each day after removing your packages, and the mail carrier will insert new packages and shut the door, which automatically locks it. This lower section will hold a large shoe box sized package.

The Senator is pre-drilled on the bottom. 4 holes, 6 ¾” apart, and designed to fit our Large Posts. It can also be mounted to existing surfaces.

It comes with our amazing, thick powder-coating finish to combat all the elements.

Shipping Options

When Will Your Mailbox Ship?

We have a lot of different models and options, so our inventory is always fluctuating. We are currently very busy, and below are our average wait times. If your mailbox is in stock, it will ship the same or next business day. Otherwise, here are our average wait times if not in stock*:

10" Mailboxes (M1-LT & Small Standard): 1 week
12" Mailboxes (Large Standard and Fortress): 1-2 weeks
18" Mailboxes (Vacationer & Senator): 2-3 weeks
The Package Box, Vaults & CBUs: 2-4 weeks
Ballot Boxes: 4 weeks
Smaller accessories if shipping separate will ship the same or next business day
Custom work and custom Colors will add 1 week to the above time frames
Extra keys can take 10-12 days for delivery
FedEx Ground transportation: 1-5 Business Days
Freight transportation: 1-9 Business Days

All Products Ship USPS, FedEx or by Freight at no charge.

Fort Knox Mailbox, LLC. will choose the shipping method in which all items are shipped. Specified shipping by the customer can add a shipping cost.

All keys will ship via USPS priority. Expedited shipping is an option for a fee.

Our mailboxes, except for the Package Box, Vaults and our CBUs ship FedEx Ground.

If you order a quantity of 4 or more larger items (Mailboxes and Posts), your order will likely ship via Freight.

For freight shipments, if shipping to a business and/or have access to a forklift or loading dock, you can select this option for a discount. If selected, and shipping is not to a business or you do not have a forklift or loading dock, then Fort Knox Mailbox, LLC. can charge for the misinformation after delivery. Please make sure that the delivery information is correct.

Large Items & Larger Quantities Ship Freight

Order quantities of 4 or more mailboxes can ship freight depending on location and accessorials needed.

The T-Post for 3 generally ships either FedEx Ground or Freight. We will make the T-Post for 3 in two pieces (Not all welded together) and ship it FedEx ground to be securely bolted together at installation.

Locks & Keys ship USPS

All locks and keys ship free via USPS when ordered separately from a mailbox. Expedited shipping is available for an additional cost. Please Contact US for details and pricing.
