I bought your mailbox because the Salt Lake City snowplows seem to find my mailboxes impossible to miss. Every winter, they take them out, so based on the previous collisions, I built a concrete wall, 2 feet thick (see enclosed photo), to protect the next mailbox… the biggest one I could get from Fort Knox.
So this winter, the snowplow operator obliged me by hitting it yet again. This time, instead of coming from the top he went into it mostly straight as he slid down the hill, and turned to try to disengage his blade. He caught the concrete first, and then swiped the mailbox, as evidenced by my security video footage, and the presence of concrete pieces on the bottom ledge of the mailbox.
One question I have is how do I get matching paint to allow me to repair its appearance?
I will say that where previous mailboxes were rendered completely deformed, this one just sustained cosmetic damage, so quite happy with the outcome, although I clearly need to get better concrete.
