I just wanted to let you know that I live in a rural area just outside of LA where there are frequent mailbox thefts. Since my neighbor and I had both of our boxes pried open and mail stolen more than a year ago we decided to purchase your boxes together. Since installing them, we haven’t given a second thought to these crooks. I dare them to try and get into your box! My neighbors regularly report on NextDoor about mail theft, and I recommend and link to your site every time I see a new posting.

Thank you again – I was able to ship them to Hawaii overnight, and they were installed today. We really appreciate the quality, and my thanks to your staff!

Hi, I purchased your large standard box a few years ago because our business street kept getting hit by mail thieves. Last night they struck again, effectively stealing over $3000 in checks from our neighboring businesses. They tried unsuccessfully to get into our box as you can see, but the Fort Knox box did its job! This was well worth the investment and has paid for itself over and over. It just so happened that we had an $11,000 check in our box but the thieves gave up when they realized how tough this box is!! From one business owner to another, I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!

The mailbox came in. Holy cannoli, it surpasses every expectation or hope that I had. The mail box is beautiful and it is so sturdy. My wife and I installed it today and it looks so wonderful.

Someone ran over my mailbox last night (along with my four neighbors). I have one of your large standard mailboxes on one of your posts. The completely destroyed my neighbors boxes and tore mine completely out of the ground flinging it approximately 10 feet away. Other than some scrapes and a tweaked baseplate, the box is undamaged. The door swings normally open closed and I’ll plant it back in the ground this afternoon. I just wanted to say thanks for making such a great product!

Thank you! We’ve had the mailbox installed for a few months now and we are very pleased! Your secure packaging and help with installation were much appreciated!

They were stealing my mail out of my mailbox. I bought the Fort Knox mailbox and I haven’t had an issue since!!! It is a great mail box!!

I probably over did it with this mailbox considering others in my area have the old flip down type mailboxes, but I just wanted to be sure that if someone were to decide to go around my area and steel mail or take a bat to boxes that they would not be able to get in mine and I would be able to find them because they would be the person who has a fresh cast on their arm. If someone were to be driving by (my mail box is set off the road 10′ so they most likely would not try) and hanging out the window and were to take a swing at this box it would be like driving by the corner of a block building and taking a swing at it. First the steel is about a 1/4″ thick, the quality of the build is very good, the welds are very good and consistent (the welds are on the back plate set in and the bottom – the top edges are rolled over – very clean), the sides, top and bottom are very straight. The powder coating is done very well. overall it is a great quality mailbox, that if you are looking for something a little more secure (trust me I looked at everything in store and online) that you might as well pay a little more (yes these are not hardware store cheap) for a box that is Made In the USA and alleviates any doubt of tampering or destruction. Their product meets their advertising claims now that is refreshing. Oh by the way this is not a paid reply by any means just a very happy customer with a product that met my expectations. Most don’t.

Good, strong mailbox that requires some muscle to install, but worth it.

Late one night in March, a vehicle came around the curve just North of us at a high rate of speed. Slight frost on the road and they spun a 180 into our mailbox on the opposite side of the road, backwards at a minimum of 55 mph. (Speed limit)
Fortunately, we had a break away base at grade level (Road Commision Req.) so when they hit the box and post it broke off as intended. Not a dent or scratch can be seen on the box or post, just a little rough on one edge that we touched up with paint. Pretty sure I can’t say the same for the car. They didn’t stick around so we’ll never know.
Mailbox and Snow Screen are back up. Post Office is happy as are we. Thanks Fort Knox for making a quality product.

In this day and age of sketchy customer service this company is hands-down one of the best ever worked with.
Submitting an incorrect key code for new mailbox keys I was contacted by phone and email by Abigail. Thankfully, I was able to email her and the keys arrived before I knew it (days sooner than I expected).
Thank you to ALL involved you ROCK!!

Yo All,
I took “Canned Heat’s” advice and moved out to the country but painted my mailbox green…that’s Mike Crisp green. Mike has created mail boxes in his own image. Fire hydrants and tanks come to mind when viewing one of his tamper-proof and indestructible Fort Knox mailboxes Yes folks, I’m resting at my new address supported by one of Mike’s creation. Note the new address in NC.

Looked for you at the Portland Home and Garden Show, but didn’t see you. I had some pic’s for you too.
Great mailbox, we love it. If we move we will have to buy another one. Great, Great product.
Thanks,

I awoke around 2:30 this morning to what I first thought was a pre 4th of July fireworks display. Then I looked out my front window to see the car pulling out of my driveway. Evidently the post of the Fort Knox Mailbox impeded the three point turn which was being made in my driveway. I regret not having gone outside to get a license plate number and perhaps summoning the police to see if the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated. With Soobies ‘gentlemens club’ just two doors away from me, I am sure that alcohol may have been a factor in this mornings incident. Now I will have to buy some rubbing compound and get the automobile paint off of the mailbox post. It occurs to me the vehicle took second place. As a welder and fabricator there are a few changes I’d considered making to the mailbox but I am pleased that I still have a mailbox, thanks to a landlord that has his and my best interests at heart.
Thanks Craig!

Hey there:
I wanted to send you a photo of my mailbox after the “accident”. This was the extent of the damage that was done to my mailbox after it was hit at approximately 50mph. The impact was enough to send the mailbox, post and 150lbs of concrete about 15′ down the ditch. Unfortunately, the person driving the vehicle didn’t stop, but left a handful of car parts behind. My only consolation that the driver didn’t fess up and pay for the damage was that it probably did $5,000 damage to their vehicle. I gave the mailbox a couple whacks with a hammer to straighten out the bent part a bit and it was reset in concrete and ready for mail the next day.
When I moved into this place about 6 months ago the previous owner told me he had given up on a mailbox and used a PO box instead saying that he was tired of replacing mailboxes that were either hit with cars or kids w/ baseball bats. That didn’t work for me so I did a little searching and came across you guys – seems like it was a good choice. Thanks for making a great product.
Best regards,
Alan

Greetings
I’m happy I decided on a Fort Knox a few years ago. There have been a few attempts to
pry it open … but no dice. Our neighbors haven’t had much luck with the cheaper boxes.
Recently some clown ran over all eight boxes. Hit & run. The Fort Knox was the only real
survivor in the image below. A few scratches, but I will be putting it back up soon.
You make a great product!

Guys,
Thanks for the beautiful mailbox and mounting post. It was beautifully packaged and arrived with nary a scratch.
I dug the post hole with the aid of a jackhammer to get past some deep rocks and concrete, but I was able to get it done. If anything, I went too deep, but that’s always better than not deep enough.
I did balk at the thought of trying to wedge rocks between the post and the walls of the hole (I was never successful at that and because I was doing this myself there was no one to hold it straight while I tried to jam the rocks in). So I used another method that worked just fine for me. Instead of the rocks to wedge the post in place to get the angles right I hammered a 75 inch galvanized pipe in the center of the hole (it was a 1 1/2 inch diameter top rail of a chain link fence cut to 75 inches. You can use a “T” steel fence post for wire fences for this also.). I stopped hammering when the top of this post was at the right height for the base of the mailbox. Then your 5 inch powder-coated post (without mail box) was lowered over the support pipe (the top flange of the 5-inch square post sits on the support pipe) and the proper angle was adjusted by shifting the mailbox post either right, left, forward, or back over the support pipe. You just let gravity do the work for you. It was pretty easy without the mass of the mailbox on top of the support post. Then it was a matter of filling the post hole with concrete without any rocks that could hinder the flow of the concrete. When the hole was filled with cement, I raised the powder-coated post a half a foot to get some concrete into the center of your post, then lowered it down again. A bubble level confirmed it was centered right-left and had a half-bubble slope downwards toward the street so rainwater would fall off the mailbox.
I’m waiting for the concrete to cure, then I’ll mount the mailbox on the post. But even now it’s pretty darn solid.
Thanks for the beautiful piece of work, and thanks for getting it here so quickly.
David R.
A happy customer.

I just received the mailboxes today… I can’t even begin to tell you how cool these things are. If you knew me, you would know how picky I am and how hard it is to impress me. After opening the boxes today I am impressed beyond words.
Thank you very much! I will get these installed and take some pictures to send to you. We also just had a $17,000 fence and electric gate installed next to where these will go and they are also black powder coated.
Thanks again.

After many mailboxes in our community were batted in, and mine found in our neighbor’s yard, I wanted a secure mailbox. I found it in the Fort Knox mailbox. One of our neighbors is an ironworker, so we asked him to make the post, also out of quarter inch steel, with foot long spikes to go into the concrete base. We installed it in a block of concrete 3ft wide by 3ft long by 2.5 ft high (half a foot so grass would grow. I don’t know about the guy whose 8 bags of concrete wasn’t enough, but I’ll take dollars to doughnuts that a semi that runs into our mailbox will not drive away. Nobody’s going to move this mailbox without a crane. No problems since install two years ago, while other mailboxes in our neighborhood have since been knocked about. Also, wanted some extra keys, and found it really easy to order. Thanks for the excellent product and service!

I am very well pleased with the quality and durability of your product. I have not been able to fine anything close to the same quality after searching all over the world.
Your fabrication, machining and paint protection is best quality. Most of all, the flag that you provided, is out of the world.
Thank you for your workmanship, (built in America). You made my day.
Thank you
