More Information And How They Work:
The mail carrier inserts your incoming mail into the open slot at the top (9.5” W x 1.75” H). It drops down into the locked compartment. You will be the only one with a key! Your mail will be waiting inside, safe.
The Small Standard is pre-drilled on the bottom. 4 holes, 5 ¾” apart, and designed to fit our Small Posts. It can also be mounted on existing posts and surfaces.
The Small Standard has our amazing, thick powder-coating finish to combat all the elements.
This is a “limited service” locking mailbox, meaning it’s for incoming mail only. The outgoing mail is an option. When the outgoing mail option is requested, a flag is added along with a small slot beneath the incoming mail slot. This outgoing mail slot will allow for 1-4 envelopes. We recommend if the mail is important, to take it to a locked outgoing box as your outgoing mail cannot be locked up.
Outgoing mail rests below the incoming slot. Although there is no door concealing the outgoing mail like some of our other models, outgoing mail is still available. You will need to leave your outgoing mail sticking out about an inch for the mail carrier to be able to take (see our cutaway view for an explanation of how this works).
The body of the mailbox has an overhang that will protect it from vandalism and rain. The door is held closed with an included 7 pin tubular pick-proof lock and incoming mail will rest behind this locked door after the mail carrier drops it in the slot.

Attached please find some pictures of the custom installation that I performed myself. I am very happy with the results! Although in hindsight, I probably should have ordered the lighter weight 38lb. box, because I almost got a hernia lifting the 68lb. box to the top of the base that I built.

Installed this April 2019. Fantastic unit. Withstands anything Mother Nature can throw at it. No more putting mail on hold while on vacation. Mail order prescriptions and small parcels are securely locked. Thank you for building a quality product. Well worth the money and sweat to put it in.

Just wanted to say that we had an incident a few weeks ago. A driver lost control of his speeding car and hit one of our Fort Knox posts and boxes. He was doing 80-100 mph when he made contact with it. The box was ripped off the post and trapped under the car as he continued into a 16-18 telephone pole that he broke in 2 places. We had to pull the post kind of back to being plumb and beat the box back into shape so the doors would close but hey its still operational. Just wanted to let you know your stuff is tough as h*#l.
